This totally retro, proven approach shows you exactly how to set up a fun, freedom-first coaching/healing venture that makes you over $120k working 3 days a week, 9 months a year with just 60 cool paying clients.
And the best bit is, there's no silly funnels, zero ad-spend (unless you want to), no discovery calls - plus - this weird approach actually gives you SIX ready-to-sell-on-the-side digital programs that can earn you extra cash with almost no work, while you're enjoying time off.

Hi, it's James Lavers,
In 2010, after 5 years of trial and error, I started teaching a new approach to getting clients and making money that I call "The Lazy Coach Way".
Now, look.
If you're a healthy, skeptical adult, chances are good you read the headline at the top of this page and thought -
James, this just sounds
like hype.
I totally get it.
And, you know what if I wasn't the guy who'd seen this strange approach work first-hand - I'd probably think this was bullshit too.
Plus if I hadn't experienced this super cool approach to becoming a well respected, well-paid, well-known Coach, Healer or Trainer work for ME personally...
...there's no way I'd believe it.
But I do believe in it.
This approach gave me back my life.
It's given many of my clients back there's too.
It's not hype. I promise you.
It's true.
All of it.
Quick (real) story.
(not a tidy, cinematic, before-and-after one that ends in champagne and a million bucks)
This is a messy one. A true one.
One I still think about, even now.
It’s about closing a door.
It was spring 2006, and I was on a call with another potential client. You know the type. The one you hope says yes because you really need the money. Actually, more than that, you really just need the break - craving some validation that your crazy decision to start sharing your expertise isn't madness.
I was juggling. Consulting by day to keep the bills paid. Late-night hustling to get my coaching business off the ground.
There I was hunched over my phone in a tiny outbuilding-turned-office attached to my house.
I was talking faster than I needed to. Wanting so desperately to impress them. Trying to sound a little more successful than I really was.
And then I heard her.
Daddy!
My nine-month-old daughter had gotten away from her mum. She was toddling across the deck, trying to find me. I could hear her little feet. I could hear her voice getting closer.
I panicked.
Rather than do what I’d do today. Laugh. Pick her up. Wave at the client. Be human.
I shut her out. Literally.
She reached the office door. Glass. And, whilst still talking to the potential client, I pulled the curtain across.
She banged on the glass.
I turned away and talked louder and faster.
The door handle clicked as she pushed it open.
I slammed the door shut in her face!
Her mum found her, scooped her up and took her back inside, and the last words I heard honestly just broke my heart. "Daddy's working."
That was the moment everything snapped into focus.
Because I wasn’t trying to get clients and make money just for the hell of it. I was doing it for her. For our family. I wanted to be the dad who was there. Not the one who was always missing. The one who showed up.
But, fact is, I was already missing.
Worse. I was teaching her I wasn’t available - that calls came first.
That was the day the Lazy Coach Way was born from a single crystal clear insight:
The things I'd been doing to try and get clients and be close to my family, were the very things that meant I got neither!
See, I was trading hours of my life for money.
I gave away chunks of time for free and called them discovery calls.
I chased clients. Said yes to everything. Answered emails at all hours like I had something to prove.
And I told myself. This is what it takes.
But it wasn’t.
Because every hour I spent on one client was an hour that was gone and would never pay me again.
And in that moment with my daughter at the door, I realized something.
I was selling off my life in chunks.
I couldn’t get any of them back. Ever.
That’s the deal most coaches and practitioners are making.
I wasn't willing to do that anymore.
I made a decision.
I got obsessed with a single idea.
How could I create cool stuff that serves my clients and continues to make me money, without a bunch of stress.
Now, bear in mind - this is 2006.
There's no Zoom.
No Kajabi.
No online courses. Not yet.
CD & DVD sets were still the first choice for the Gurus who wanted to get their spoken-word expertise out there.
Remember those!?
But here's the thing. I was already helping my clients do that.
Because, see, I was originally the guy who'd helped a bunch of the big-names in Self Help sell their products on TV as an infomercial producer.
And I knew something that pissed me off...
Making those big multi-CD sets was super expensive, time-consuming and a complete ball-ache!
From this desperation of what to do, The Lazy Coach Way started to emerge.
I started asking:
-
What if my "CD set" wasn't a physical product?
-
What if I could be selling the recordings within a few days?
-
What if I didn't need to manufacture boxes and stuff?
-
What if there was no postage and customers could get it instantly?
-
What if all the coaching I'm doing was online too, rather than just the "teachy" stuff?
- What if it was raw and "unplugged", rather than a big formal, recording studio thing?
Now, look.
RETRO warning!
(it ain't 2006 no more)
I know this all seems very obvious NOW in 2025.
But back then it was super cutting edge :)
I was obsessed with helping more than one person at a time.
To answer questions once instead of a hundred times.
To teach what I know without having to sell my presence every time.
To make money without being always-on.
It started to work for me in January 2007, (7 months after the door-slam situation) when I ran my very first online group program. I didn’t know what I was doing. I had 13 people. It wasn’t fancy. But it worked. Beautifully.
I achieved with a group - in 18 hours - what would have taken me 78 hours, working one to one.
But here's the really cool bonus I discovered -
The recordings made three times as much money as running the program, in the first year - with zero expense!
I finally got some time back to live a life.
I wasn’t hustling anymore.
I wasn’t slamming doors.
I was home.
Now I knew it could be done, I wanted to improve it. Streamline it. Make it work for anyone like me who values their freedom as much as being of service.
So that's exactly what I did. I tested it - re-tested it - tweaked it until I had something that was making me a solid six-figures working 3 days a week.
And in 2010 - after three years doing it - I started teaching it to other people.
I called it The Lazy Coach Way, and this approach has helped so many of my clients get not only more money and clients...
...but get their LIFE back too!
